Applications are available now for the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad and Faculty Research Abroad programs. These grants enable advanced graduate students studying modern foreign language and area studies to conduct research on their dissertation projects, as well as fund faculty interested in maintaining and improving their foreign language and area studies skills to conduct research in another county. The OSU campus deadline for applications is Monday, November 16.

Doctoral Dissertation Research Awards

Eligibility for the U.S. Department of Educaton's Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad program is restricted to advanced graduate students who possess the requisite language skills for the dissertation project, and who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Faculty Research Grants

The U.S. Department of Education's Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Program provides grants to colleges and universities to fund faculty to maintain and improve their area studies and foreign language skills by conducting research in other countries for periods of three to 12 months (projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported). Grants provide travel expenses, a maintenance allowance (based on academic year salary), and a project allowance (for research related expenses such as books, copying, tuition).
